Dial M for... Kerry McFadden

Kerry Katona used to be a Kitten of the Atomic variety. Now married to Westlifes Bryan McFadden and a mum of two, the bouncy blonde is
carving out a new career as a TV presenter, appearing on the all- female talk show Loose Women, We gave her a buzz for a gossip.

Us: What time did you get up?
Kerry:
7.30. I like my bed but I'm used to getting up early. Molly's nearly two and Lilly's 15 weeks. Now, it I do get a lie-in, if I've not got the kids, I feel guilty. I get up and clean or something. I can manage on six hours' sleep, but I go quiet if I'm tired.

Us: Who was the first person you talked to?
Kerry:
A driver who took me to the studio. At home it'd be Bryan. We met four years ago when I was in Atomic Kitten, doing a TV show. He asked me out five times that night but I said, 'Listen, don't think I'm going to be another notch on your bedpost.' It was instant for us. When we did get together, he proposed after three weeks.

Us: Where are you right now?
Kerry:
I" the back of a car on the way to London from Norwich - I've been doing the show, I spend a lot of my life in the back of cars... Oops! I didn't mean that the way it sounded. Like, hence the two kids' No, I travel a lot, but home has been Dublin for three years. We're moving into a huge new house next week. It's amazing. Can't wait.

Us: What are you wearing?
Kerry:
Adidas trainers and trackie bottoms, blue with red stripes down the sides, a black T-shirt from Topshop and a black leather jacket. My friends are label freaks. I never used to know anything about designer wear, we never had any money. But now I can afford it, I'm still a Topshop girl.

Us: What's the most recent domestic thing you've done?
Kerry:
I've been in the hotel all week, so before I left home I cleaned the apartment, made the bed, Hoovered, did the dishes and mopped the fioor. I don't enjoy it, but with the kids, you've got to keep it clean. I've got a friend who helps me. I try to be tidy but it's hard because I'm always on the go.Us: When were you last drunk? Last night, the production team took us out to Brannigans. I got really, really drunk. I drink shots. Blue WKD, Wicked! An alcopop, it tastes like bubble gum. I must have had eight to ten, I don't get hangovers, which encourages me to drink even more. I don't like wine or champagne, they give me awful headaches.

Us: When did you last have a good snog?
Kerry:
Sunday it was. Bryan's 6ft 3in, he's got dark bedhead-ish hair, an amazing physique and the most unbelievable blue eyes I've ever seen. I just get lost when I look at them. He's a very funny person, he's quick-witted but very genuine. Very sincere, very kind, very loving. Very romantic.

Us: What are you going to do when you hang up?
Kerry
: Call Bryan, I'm flying to spend the weekend with him tomorrow. We're going to have such a reunion! I'm a happy girl, My wedding day was the best day of my life, but now I've got two wonderful children, a wonderful husband, a new house and I'm doing a fantastic TV show. It's pretty much the best it's been.

Interview by Nina Myskow Loose woman is at 1pm on ITV on weekdays

M’s quickies

Us: Describe yourself in no more than five words.
Kerry:
Genuine, warm- hearted, hilarious, caring, romantic.

Us: Which part of your body do you most dislike?
Kerry:
My stomach, bum and thighs. I'd like to get rid of that baby weight completely, get my old confidence back. I was 7st before I first got pregnant with Molly, 11st when I gave birth, both times. I'm 10st now. And I'm only 5 foot and a fart!

Us: Katona or McFadden?
Kerry:
I was happy being Katona - my granddad was Hungarian, that's where that comes from. But I love being Mrs McFadden.

Us: Rigby & Pflter or M&S?
Kerry:
M&S, I'm a 36DD, though I've never been measured. Maybe I should try Rigby & Peller. Half my weight is in my chest, I took like a rug by player,

Us: Is there anything you regret?
Kerry:
Leaving the Kittens, a bit. I miss singing and performing. being on stage. And I miss the girls, the fun. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't give motherhood up in a million years. I'm very optimistic. I think things happen for a reason, You just have to get on with it.

Us: What is it that keeps you awake at night?
Kerry:
The kids' safety and missing Bryan.
